Oklahomas report seeing a meteor falling and hearing a large boom, no "official "statement has been made?

answers:
Zheia say: Sounds like bolides.
-
roberto say: no surprise
media barks everywhere 247 about trump this trump that
-
Manuel say: Where is the question?, when did this happen?, why are you trying to make something out of nothing?
-
boomer say: call a news station and ask the meteorologist
-
John say: So you got that lint out of your navel. I'm so glad.
-
Raymond say: 1) An "official" statement by whom? (the local Meteor working group did make an official report to its member).
2) Totally irrelevant to the question. Most people interested in meteors already know what a meteor is.
3) Maybe not every day, but often enough that it does not deserve media coverage unless some damage or injury occurs.
4) I agree that Trump's hair in the wind is no more newsworthy, but at least, it makes people laugh. A meteor just makes people yawn (and rightly so).
5) I still think the videos of the Chelyabinsk meteor, specially the ones including the sonic boom, are far more impressive and newsworthy.

quantumclaustrophobe say: Well, there's this: https://www.amsmeteors.org/tag/oklahoma/
-
tham153 say: What's official? The thing fell, whether the Oklahoma state government or the federal government issues a statement or not. Maybe a local planetarium or observatory confirms?
-
billrussell42 say: do you have a question?
update: the problem with the world is people are too lazy to complete the question.
-
Adam D say: Was property damaged? Was someone hurt?
Small rocks hit the Earth quite literally every day.
-
Luv D say: That's just a Russian bomb no head to worry as trump would say
-
John P say: And so what? All the report means is that there was a loud bang and that so far nobody has found a meteorite which might be recent and thus correspond with the bang.
-
Victor say: Probably an anomaly
NASA is scary
-
average say: Listen, nothing is going to happen to the earth. It's just not going anywhere and no, aliens do not exist. You simply want something to happen that never will.
-
CarolOklaNola say: WHERE in Oklahoma? Central Oklahoma barely knows the panhandle exists unless there is a state election coming up. If some thing happens neat Altus, people in Tulsa and greater Oklahoma City are going to unaware of it.
The fireball was over North Carolina and was seen from 7 other states, not in Oklahoma. If you despise someone in Oklahoma and want to annoy them, you succeeded, but you have a problem. The rest of the world and Oklahoma does not care what bothers YOU.
-
poldi2 say: No reason for any official statement regarding meteors.
-
Tom S say: It is not all that unusual.
-
J say: I was planning to commit suicide so I could ride the tail of that comet. Lucky I didnt, I would have ended up back here
I'm sure trump will invent an explanation if he reads a glimpse of this story, if the wind is still speaking to this mental giant
-
Dan say: Nothing to see here.
