Is New Horizons going to find alien life?......

Is New Horizons going to find alien life?

-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
Papa say: No one knows, but lets hope so.
-
Jeffrey K say: Very doubtful. Everything is frozen 4 billion miles from the sun.
-
aladdinwa say: No.
-
Paula say: Not on Ultima Thule.
Its temperature is 30 K.(minus 243 C)
Most stuff is frozen solid at that temperature.

And it daily is heading into even colder space.
-
tham153 say: not bloody likely at the temperatures so far from the Sun
-
Starrysky say: Maybe if it travels a few thousand lightyears in the next 100 million years or so, it might run into some.
-
Ronald 7 say: Not very likely
But it is looking for what building blocks of life might be there
It made contact with Bennu this morning at 5 am
The signal back, going at Light Speed is about halfway now to Earth
It is the farthest Object ever reached by a craft from Earth
-
YKhan say: No, no one is expecting to see any life on anything this far out. We're just trying to find out what sort of rocks are out there in our solar system this far out.
-
Gordon B say: Any alien life they find out there would be scary if it can survive out there
-
Xxx say: We are the aliens
-
Fred say: Have you taken any notice of the images we now can produce by robotic capture of small asteroids and even the return of robotic gathered material? Notice how battered the nearby planet's, moons and asteroids are?

Now imagine we could launch millions of 'New Horizons'! Distant Stars and imaginable planets are thousands of years travel distant at New Horizons speed.

Our Solar system has been around for billions of years. We have some 4 billion years left of habitable Earth.

In 4 billion years those millions of 'New Horizons' will be battered into balls of space dust loosely stuck together... and still the remote chance of encountering "alien life" is still only a few billionths of a fraction to mathematically impossible of encountering "alien life".

So GET OVER IT!
-
ngc7331 say: not in our lifetime, but there's always the possibility
-
Gabe say: It does not have the right equipment for such.
-
The Donald say: I just hope they are Republicans.
-
rick29148 say: bacteria-type if any .......................................
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: Not likely...
-
wandycakes say: They have yet to confirm there is intelligent life on Earth, never mind in an asteroid billions of miles from earth.
-
Donald Trump Supporter say: yeah but NASA would do it first.
-
Jim say: Unlikely.

Certainly not life as we know it. The New Horizons probe is far from the Sun. It is too cold for life that far from the Sun.
-
ANDRE L say: Of course not, as it's not carrying any instruments that would be useful for such a search, and it's not going near anywhere where there could be any life.

Being less stupid, make that your News Year's Resolution.
-
Alpha Beta say: No
-
Chazz say: Yeah it just found a sarlacc...
-
PhotonX say: No. Nor is it trying to.
.
.
-
Nikki say: maybe....
-
David say: The Bible says there is no life in outer space, only on Earth.
-
emma say: no.no such simple thing
-
Stephen24 say: Don't count on it.
-
Forty Licks say: It will as it has to justify its cost. They will find an insect so small that they will classify it as life forming and will convince us what a worthwhile expedition the Horizons was
-
conley39 say: No, but the pictures of Ultima Thule will be interesting
-
Bill-M say: NOPE
-
Acetek say: no. that is not its purpose
