If I purchased a moon rock from the black market, how do I know it’s real?

Jeffrey K say: There are many moon rocks around. NASA gave some to other countries. Employees stole some. But you can't tell if one is really from the moon. And it is illegal to buy or sell moon rocks. So don't waste your money.

Handle it only with gloves similar to a catcher's glove, which you may have seen on a geology website. Keep it dry and in any kind of light, 24/7. Do not sneeze around it. Keep rabbits especially away, and Keep it covered in a secure container w one fresh ground up garlic.

John P say: You don't. Just think - there have not been many expeditions (at huge cost to the very few governments in the world which could mount such expeditions) to the Moon. Therefore would not every scrap of material brought back be extremely well documented?

james say: Its mineral content would be the same as earth rock. That has not been hydrated for a few million years or longer. It might show stress marks. Were a meteor hit the moon hard enough to send a moon rock to earth & heat marks from entery. They use to be easy to find. So I find it hard to believe there is a black market for them. All you needed to do was stop at rock shops in many states along the road. As k them if they have any moon rocks for sale. It seems there are ton's of them available to buy from small roadside rock shops on asking.
