Why do you assume that any aliens, if they exist are techologically in advance of us? There is a very good chance that they are not, if they exist. Many could be still in a stone age.
In any case, artificially generated radio signals are likely to fade below interstellar noise within 100 light years and could not be detected by any technology.
Therefore your aliens would have to be at least that close or closer. The chances of that are slim to none, even if there were thousands of different intelligent races in this galaxy alone.

Hmmm. I don't know. There is a very good chance that we are the pioneers of the universe the first to discover or the first to develope. There may be life out there but there is an extremely good chance that they haven't evolved yet or developed to what humans have. After all we are the only species here like that. Or there's the possibility that they are well in advance of us.

Is it possible that aliens of higher technology would have stopped sending signals over the electromagnetic spectrum?(as in radio waves, infrared, etc). However it's unlikely that Aliens would want to contact us if they have like UFOs that use superior technology. They'd probably wait until we have moved up the technological evolution.

The jury is still out on the exsistance of aliens of any type. Treat the subject matter like a court case. Has there been any evidence presented to date, no. But also remember the lack of evidence is not evidence. There may be aliens but credible evidence has not been presented. We don't know what we don't know. Only time will tell.

My answer is that it is extremely possible. They could have sent out their final signal centuries ago, which could easily have been before we had the capacity to detect them. Remember we had radio for over a century, yet look how old the universe is. A century isn't even a sneeze. So they may have gone extinct or moved passed radio because it was too slow.
