It's caused by the Earth's tilt (the angle between its axis of rotation and its orbital plane).
None of the answers really fit, although I guess you could make more of a case for b than the others.
The person who said it is the difference in distance between perihelion and aphelion is completely and utterly wrong.

The seasons are caused by the way the Earth is tilted, which would be answer B.
From Wikipedia
A season is a division of the year, marked by changes in weather, ecology, and hours of daylight. Seasons result from the yearly revolution of the Earth around the Sun and the tilt of the Earth's axis relative to the plane of revolution.

Difference in seasons are caused by due to the continuos rotation of earth around the sun and its own axis. When earth is near sun(Perihillion) it causes summer and when earth is farther from sun(Amphillion) it causes winter. Hence, rotation of earth is responsible for the change in season.

Sigh, don't they teach you anything in school theses days?
The season are caused by the axis tilt of the Earth's axis when compared to its orbit around the sun.
