Do you know that Mayans were good in mathematics and astronomy? why do you believe their prediction's wrong

They were great astronomers and mathematicians, just because their calendar ends doesn't mean the world does, Mine ends in about 5 days, im not exactly shitting myself.

Ritual bloodletting, torture, and human sacrifice were employed in an attempt to propitiate the gods, ensure fertility, and stave off cosmic chaos. At the height of its Classic period, Mayan civilization included more than 40 cities of 5,000 – 50,000 people. After 900 the civilization declined rapidly for unknown reasons. Descendants of the Maya are now subsistence farmers in southern Mexico and Guatemala.

The real question is why do you believe that they made a prediction? The Mayans DID NOT predict that the world would end on 12-21-12. In fact they didn't "predict" anything would happen on 12-21-12, other than the winter solstice. Which happens every year on 12-21 or 12-22. Nor did they make a doomsday prediction at all, on any date. The 13th baktun of the Mayan long count calendar ends on 12-21-12. It is NOT, nor was it ever, a doomsday prediction. The whole idea that this was supposedly a doomsday is nothing but a hoax that was invented within the last few years.
