I did not ask if evolution is fact or not. This question has nothing to do with that.
All I want to see is if people actually know what evolution says regarding the 2 specific items mentioned.

It actually says very little about evolution.

No. The creation of the Universe is a cosmological issue, and has nothing to do with evolution. The creation of life is separate from evolution.
Evolution describes only the way life has diversified into the huge variety of species currently found on this planet (and ways in which it will continue to do so). Evolution ONLY applies to a pre-exisiting population of living organisms. The origin of life (known as abiogenesis) is a separate problem.
Part of this common misunderstanding is likely due to misinterpretation of Darwin's famous work on the subject. Its full title on publication was: On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life, and is now usually shortened to On the Origin of Species. Many people, it seems, have misinterpreted the word 'species' to mean life itself, when in fact it simply refers to the *diversity* of life, and how that diversity arose, not how life itself originated.

Evolution is the product of the following facts:
1 - The traits of an organism are the product of its genes. This is proven. In fact, it was originally proven by a monk. Since then we have studied DNA under microscopes and have mapped the human genome.
2 - These genes randomly mutate. This is another fact we have literally seen. In fact, each and every one of us contains mutations that weren't from either of our parents, its just that most of these mutations don't do much - although some do.
3 - An organism that is better suited to its environment has a better chance to survive and make babies. This is pretty much a no-brainer.
