Why is the government covering up ufo stories

like come one for the last 12 thousand years there have been reports of aliens and ufo's written in caves and in books and also in these days...why do they still cover it up?

Nobody knows, maybe to gather alien technology secretly. Or We can't handle the truth

Which government?

Are you talking about the government that could not even cover up a meeting between a president and a buxom intern, or the one that could not cover up the waste of creating an artificial lake in a hotel lobby with taxpayer's money?

The only "UFO stories" that are covered up are the stories involving the UFO built by those governments (i.e., experimental fighter planes).

All the rest of the UFO stories, made up into "alien stories" are fabricated by UFO aficionados who have decided to believe their own delusions.

Generally, the UFO's that they've covered up have been their own black projects, such as Project Mogul (responsible for the Roswell Incident), the U-2, the SR-71, Tacit Blue, the F-117, etc.

Your assertions that reports of aliens goes back 12,000 years is based upon what's called 'confirmation bias' though -- taking crude etchings and reading into them what one wants to.

UFOs are subsequently identified as one of the following

1. The planet Venus 45%
2. Other astronomical or meteorological explanations 22%
3. Commercial Aircraft 18%
4. Chinese Lanterns, balloons, other party paraphernalia 9%
5. Secret Government Aircraft 6%

The government covers up that last 6 percent because they do not wish to "tell" hostile nations what they are testing.


Roughly 9/10 of 1% remain unidentified, due mostly to the inconsistent testimony of those who report them.

There is no solid evidence for the Earth being or ever having been visited by aliens. I assume that is what you mean by "UFO" which actually means unidentified flying object, which has nothing to do with aliens.
