wushuboy001 say: I was reading an interesting article in a magazine at the doctor's office a month or two ago about a genetic disease that could be introduced into mosquitos which would kill them all. However, the real question is if the disruption in the food chain would do more damage than good. I'm sure the same could be done with spiders, but spiders aren't really much of a threat to humans, and in fact they eat insects that are a threat to us.

2. Many spiders are beneficial. A better target would be mosquitos. Or at least the mosquitos that carry malaria. And we're making progress.
