There were limited Russian experiments to breed humans and Chimpanzees early in the 20th century. The sequences are about as similar as different species of horses that are able to reproduce and create sterile offspring like mules. The experiments were unsuccesful but were also incomplete.

Despite looking quite different all humans are genetically extremely similar. The inability to interbreed only occurs when the genetic difference reaches a certain level.
