Where to drive to see snow from central Florida?

I want to take my three year old to see snow. Where is the farthest south that is snowing and snow will sit on the ground? We live in central Florida by Lakeland.

I hate to say it but the odds aren't very good for "lasting snow" anywhere in the state. It does happen but it's rare. I have lived in Florida since 2002 and don't ever recall snow that "stuck" long enough to sit on the ground. I do recall major snow storms near Atlanta in recent years. For a "sure thing" the Appalachian Trail will have patches of snow in the cold parts of winter at elevations above 4000 feet or so. But this is in far North Georgia.

With that said there have been rare snow storms in Florida. I never witnessed one, but the phenemona have been historically recorded.

I was playing basketball outdoors with friends back in February of 2007 at FSU when a very light snow flurry fell - but it didn't stick on the ground. I know snow when it's real. I lived in Colorado for 4 years and went to HS in Santa Fe, NM.
