Why does snow squeak when air temperatur is very cold

Have anyone else noticed this?

If air temperature is "warm", the snow if you walk on it no longer squeaks.

Because at cold air temperature there are no water film between the ice. At warmer air temperature water on the each ice crystal lubricates the rubbing between them.

So it's simple as less friction when air is cold!
