Why are the days longer than the nights?

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 14-05-26] [Hit: ]
as the earth spins on its axis and revolves around the sun. there is a point where the axis changes slightly. this means that our side of earth faces the sun for longer hence the long day. in winter, the axis changes and the earth revolves in a way which the we face the sun for only a short period of time, hence the longer nights.......
I notice that days are being longer than nights, is there a reason for this? I heard that global warming might be the cause of this, is there something in our universe that is causing for daylight to be more prominent than nighttime? Thanks.

it's simply to do with the earths rotation and it's tilt. as the earth spins on it's axis and revolves around the sun. there is a point where the axis changes slightly. this means that our side of earth faces the sun for longer hence the long day. in winter, the axis changes and the earth revolves in a way which the we face the sun for only a short period of time, hence the longer nights. this has always happened and it is what prompted the founding of the seasons.

Over a year it pretty much averages out.

They are only longer during the summer months and are the result of the Earth's tilt. On the spring and autumn equinox's they are exactly the same. In the winter the nights are longer. Look at the sunrise/sunset charts for December 21st and compare it to June 21.
