Newton's first Law of Motion:
An object will continue to move at uniform velocity or maintain a state of rest unless it is acted upon by a net force.
Inertia is the property of mass to resist changes in motion. The law states that an object won't change direction, speed up or slow down, but continue what it was doing before unless a force acts upon it.

Take this question this way considering both first law and law of inertia;
Law of inertia: It says everything in this world stays in it's own state ie rest or motion. If it is at rest it continues to rest and if it is at motion it continues to be at motion.
First law: It says that Every object in this world continues to be in its state unless certain force is applied in it.
You, see both are same.....just the first law brings the concept of force. But main thing is same.
