Centre mass of an equilateral triangle

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-11-05] [Hit: ]
I know x is -1.5 because you just divide by 2, but I dont know how to get the y value.h^2= 3^2-1.5^2=6.75 => h=2.......
The triangle is located on a graph with the right bottom corner at (0,0). Each side is 3m. I need the centre mass in (x,y) coordinates. I know x is -1.5 because you just divide by 2, but I don't know how to get the y value.

well in this case just divide the height of the triangle by 3
h : height of the triangle

h^2= 3^2-1.5^2=6.75 => h=2.598~2.6

answer is h/3 = .867
