So I watched my first horror movie the other night: The Exorcist. And now I'm terrified. Ive been known to be easily paranoid and scared over nothing but now I'm terrified I will be possessed. I've read articles saying people actually believe in this, and that there are actual exorcists. Does that really happen? Do people really get thrown around and fly around their room and jump up and down in their bed uncontrollably, possessed?
Can that happen to me? Will it? I've nearly burst out crying, I'm so terrified every second of my life... Literally I feel sick to my stomach I'm so scared.
Also for the last five years i've had depersonalization like symptoms, I wake up screaming all the time and have had these symptoms. I always ignored it until now. Is that something spiritual? I'm a seventeen year old girl, from the US. I'm SO scared, please help I'm like shaking in fear. Are possessions and such real?

Right. Like the others say, quit watching horror movies if they mess up your head this badly, and keep reminding yourself that this is *fiction*, it's offered as entertainment because some people like the idea of being scared for a couple of hours before returning to hum-drum everyday life. You are not one of those people, so stay away from it.

People believe in all kinds of silly sh!t. There is absolutely no relationship between what people believe and what is actually real. It's evidence that counts, and there are virtually no supernatural beliefs that manifest themselves under scientifically controlled conditions. Why is that? It's because they exist only in the minds of the believers, and not in the real world.

No. Believers claim they do, and you'll see people posting all kinds of claims here, but words are cheap, and trolls can say anything they like and no one can prove otherwise. I can't cite the source, unfortunately, but there was a researcher preparing to watch a video of an exorcism. Based on the written account, she was ready to see someone levitating in mid-air, because that was the way the written transcript described it. When she saw the video, though, the supposed 'levitation' was just the person lifting himself up on his elbows and heels, always in contact with the bed and never actually lifting into the air. In other words, 'arching the back' was described as 'levitation' by someone who wanted to make the event seem much more ominous and supernatural than it actually was.
