My mom and I are very close and I find that when I'm craving something I get home and see that my mom is making that excact meal. This is pretty common.

It is likely that since you two are half copies of each other, you two have similar appetite as each other.
It happens to me too. I often find myself dressed same as my mom.
When we are going out, we find each other exact same color or too similar style and one of us often go back and change.

The reason you might crave it is because your mom has been making those meals for a while. It's not like you'd suddenly crave some foreign food. You can imagine that it is quite likely that every few days, you crave the same food that happens to be made.
