For science, we got an extra credit question, and i'm pretty sure i know how to do it, but i just want to make sure my answers right before i hand it in monday.
formula: V= πr²h
(volume=pi times r squared times height)
Question :If a cylinder has a volume of 500.0cm and a height of 10.5 cm, what is the radius of the cylinder?
The answer i got: 3.89327800574272cm
i'm not sure if it's right, so could someone help me out and tell me if it's right or nott?
if it's not right, i don't want the answer, i wanna figure this out myself, and not by cheating.

Your answer is perfectly correct....just reduce the number of decimal places to 3.89cm
V= πr²h
r² = V / (π x h) = V / (3.142 x 10.5cm) = ?
r = √?
V= πr²h
r² = V / (π x h) = V / (3.142 x 10.5cm) = ?
r = √?

First of all, an answer to 20 decimal places is so extreme it's funny.
The input numbers are 4 places and 3 digits, so the answer should be to 3 digits only.
And volume is NOT in cm, it is in cm³
assuming it is in cm³
V= πr²h
500 = πr²10.5
r = 3.89 cm
so you are correct AFTER you round off the number to 3 digits.

so the question is: What is the RADIUS?
based on the equation, r² = V / πh (radius squared = volume divided by pi times height)
you are given volume so V= 500 , and h = 10.5
r² = 500 / 10.5π
solve that. Then, find the square root of that answer, because the left side is r² .
I will say that your answer is incorrect.

500cm^3=(pi)10.5cm)(r^2) =>sq rt (500cn^3/10.5pi cm) =r
if you did that and did not make arithmetic mistakes, you got the right answer.
