Can I take Flagyl (Metrogyl) without food

I am on this antibiotic at the moment and on the label it says take immediately after food.
I have been feeling sick and haven't been eating, I can't even stomach a piece of bread at the moment.
But it will pass in a day or two.

But can I take it without food? I checked online and it says it can be taken with and without food. Does it alter its function/purpose or is it just for the purpose of not making you feel sick?

You sound pretty sick. As long as you can keep it down without puking it up go for it.
