I don't seem to understand it, "y = x2+2x–3 Given x = 5" I done 5x2=10 then after that i done the 10+2=12 then i done 12x3=36, so i put 36 but it seems to be wrong?

I'm guessing you're missing a "^" symbol. In these types of text editors, "^" means "raised to the power of."
y = x^2 + 2x - 3
y = 5^2 + 2(5) - 3
y = 25 + 10 - 3
y = 32
Also, for the verb do:
I do
I did
I have done
y = x^2 + 2x - 3
y = 5^2 + 2(5) - 3
y = 25 + 10 - 3
y = 32
Also, for the verb do:
I do
I did
I have done

Just plug in the x value into your equation so that it looks like so.
y=(5)2 + 2(5) - 3
y=10 + 10 - 3
y=20 - 3
y=17
There you go ^.^
y=(5)2 + 2(5) - 3
y=10 + 10 - 3
y=20 - 3
y=17
There you go ^.^
