When you switch from glasses to contact lenses, you will have to have a new eye check done, as your eyes may have changed slightly depending on how long it was since your last appointment. You will then be shown how to put contacts in and take them out and how to look after them. Spec Savers won't let you leave with contacts until you can show them on the spot you can put the lenses in and take them out by yourself, which takes a bit of practise as your body won't like the fact that you are trying to touch your eye ball. I recommend getting contacts that last for one month at a time. When you order them, you will get three pairs worth. Once you've got your first pair from your optomertrist, you can then order contacts online if you like, which are usually cheaper. You just have to know the strength etc which will be located on the side of the box of contacts. It is a good idea to alternate between contacts and glasses.
