A pt is ordered 500units/hr of Sodium Heparin via a syringe pump. The solution is made to contain 25,000 units in N/Saline made up to 50ml. How many mls per hour should be set on the syringe pump? This is a practice question I was given on a sheet from my hospital there is multiple choice answers but I get 1ml not one of their answers which are 1.8mls/hr,2.8mls/hr,0.8mls/hr or 8mls/hr can anyone see what the answer is or have they given an incorrect answer.I am really frustrated as I have answered 30 of these questions and this one has stumped me. Thanks for the help I hope.
