i would like to become an Anesthesiologists but i get squeamish when i see surgeries. so i was wondering if you are in the room when the patient is being operated on?

Of course the anesthesiologist is in the room! How else would they continuously provide medications and monitoring?
Anesthesiologists are on the other side of the drapes and don't actually watch the surgery (unless they want to!). You will however be required to do surgical rotations as a medical student. There are many other parts of medical education which can be tough if you are squemish like cadaver dissection. You may want to either reconsider the medical field or try to get over this issue.

Yes they have to monitor the patient constantly.
