I am going to start the Neurostar therapy in January. It's expensive, but worth a shot for me. I've done a lot of research on it... it seems to have the same rate of positive results as ECT, but without the negative side effects. I met one lady who did it, and she thought it was the greatest thing she ever did. I met another person who had it done, and he thought it was a waste of money. So, hard to tell.
My psychiatrist is the medical director of a behavioral health hospital, and he told me that rTMS has a better chance of working in people 30s and younger. Because younger people haven't been depressed for as long of a time, so it is easier to get back into a non-depressed way of life.
