How are quadratics related to medicine

how are quadratic equations related to medicine?

like parabolas on graphs?
how can you connect the two? what happens in medicine which relates to parabolas?

After thinking about this for awhile, I honestly can't come up with an answer to your homework question. Parabolas are of more interest to telescope makers, lens makers and astronomers than people in medicine. I can't think of any everyday example of how you would use a quadratic equation in medicine, either. Those are really bizarre questions that you might have better luck asking on the mathematics board. I can honestly say that in almost 50 years in medicine, I never had a patient come in that needed a parabola to cure him, or a quadratic equation to diagnose him. Sorry.
