Like, my heart LITERALLY feels like it's breaking. it obviously isn't and is still in one piece. Why do you get this feeling when you get hurt (emotionally). What's going on in my body? Like scientifically. I don't get it.

Stress/anxiety causes pain and pressure in upper chest - so heart feels like it is 'breaking'.
Very common in 'grief' situations [ such as loss of a loved one; thru death, divorce, breakup, etc. ] .
PS: had this when lost my MIL, and my dad - very real, and very painful

No, it's not really "breaking" but it's sort of.. A feeling your brain causes. In the lung region, not really the heart. It's hard to explain
