The reason for asking this is because I hear stories from people complaining about their work overload from their engineering disciplines(i.e Electrical, Mechanical, etc) in addition to the amount of time spend studying for each engineering class.

It is true that engineering classes are a lot of work, but if you are somewhat familiar with some basic engineering concepts, and are good in math, then engineering isn't harder than any other discipline.
