Daily Calories Needed15,00030,00045,000 60,000-So for every extra horse you add another 15,000 cals.......
A riding stable manager is planning a nutritional diet for 6 horses. The manager finds the table below in a guide about horse health. The cost of 1,000 calories of horse feed is $0.15. What is the cost per day to feed the 6 horses?

Number of horses: 1 2 3 4
Daily Calories Needed 15,000 30,000 45,000 60,000

So for every extra horse you add another 15,000 cals.

6 horse would require 6 x 15,000 cals = 90,000 cals

90,000 cals / 1,000 cals = 90 kcals

Now multiply that by the .15

90 x .15 = $13.50 per day to feed the horses.

You're welcome :)

Yes, Austin arrived at the correct answer to the problem, as it was stated.....but WOW! Divide that $13.50 by 6. $2.25 per day to feed a HORSE!?!? I just might start boarding a few horses! Would turn quite a pretty profit!

The problem is asking you to multiply. If it takes 15,000 calories to feed over horse, and 1,000 calories of horse feed costs $0.15, how much does 15,000 calories of feed cost?

You will have four answers. Set your problems up like this:

1 horse: 15,000 (calories of feed required for one horse) x $0.15 (cost for 1,000 calories of food)...

2 horses: 30,000 x $0.15 = _____

Hope this helps!

-
The cost is 15*.15=2.25 per horse, because each horse needs 15000 calories and every 1000 calories costs $.15.

-
where's the info for the other 2 horses?
or is there a pattern involved?
aka add 15k ?

How many sides does a chimpanzees left thumb have, thats what you should be asking yourself

$8,752.54
