the first derivative of ln (1-x) is -1/(1-x). we then simplify that to get the first derivative = 1/(x-1).... (the negative in the first part comes from applying chain rule)
we then use 1/(x-1) to take the second derivative. look at it like this:
(x-1)^-1
then take derivative:
-1(x-1)^-2
ans that simplifys to
-1/((x-1)^2)
we then use 1/(x-1) to take the second derivative. look at it like this:
(x-1)^-1
then take derivative:
-1(x-1)^-2
ans that simplifys to
-1/((x-1)^2)
