.if the top of the fraction is 3 and the bottom can be anything but zero, then f(x) can never become 0.(Neg inf symbol, 0] and [0, pos infinity symbol)This time our electric fence kept the range cows off of zero.......
(Neg infinity symbol, -5] and [-5, positive infinity symbol)
See? We stopped the cows from stepping on the -5 from either direction with our electric fence!
Then think about the range...if the top of the fraction is 3 and the bottom can be anything but zero, then f(x) can never become 0.
(Neg inf symbol, 0] and [0, pos infinity symbol)
This time our electric fence kept the range cows off of zero.

set the 2 equations equal to each other and solve.
3x+2 = 3/x + 5x/x
3x^2 + 2x = 3 + 5x
3x^2 -3x -3 = 0
x^2 - x -1 = 0
solve using quadratic equation
x = 0.5 + or - 1.1 = -0.6 and 1.6
so there are 2 exact answers.
Normally when using interval notation you are dealing with INequalities, and express
the answer in a range on the number line. using "(" when the end number doesn't apply,
and using "[" when the end number is included. an answer express in interval notation would look like:
[-3,4) U (4,6)
The U means union, or also the other brackets.
this would mean -3 up to but not including 4, and then 4 to 6, but not including 4 or 6, just inbetween 4 and 6.
