Help addition math problem

What is 1 and a half hour + 1 hr + 30 min + 2 hr + 20 min + 1 hr and a half + 40 min
answer please?

I got 7 hours, 30 minutes by adding all the hours together, then adding the half hour and 30 minutes to get another hour, then adding 20 min and 40 min to get another hour, leaving "a half" left

1 1/2 + 1 = 2 1/2 2 1/2 + 1 = 3 1/2 3 1/2 + 1/2 = 4 4 + 2 = 6 6 + 20 min = 6 20 min

6 20 min + 1 1/2 = 7 50 min 7 50 min + 40 min = 8 1/2 hours
