Q1= 1, Q2= 1, Q3= 3, Q4= 5,......
I am extremely confused by this simple question:
A sample of 25 families were asked how many pets they own:
Number of pets - 0 1 2 3 4 5
Number of families - 3 10 5 4 2 1
Calculate median - mode
The answer at the back is 0

-
n= 25; Σx= 45; Σx²= 123; Σx³= 411; Σx^4= 1551
σ= 1.29614814; σn-1= 1.322875656; Variance=σ²= 1.68; (σn-1)²= 1.75; CV% = 72%
Mean(μ)= 1.8; range= 5; mid-range= 2.5; median= 1; Mode= 1
Five number summary: Q0= 0, Q1= 1, Q2= 1, Q3= 3, Q4= 5, IQR= 2
median - mode = 1-1 = 0
