Find the slope of the line
A. -5/6
B. -10
C. -1/10
D. -6/5
Can you explain how to get the answer?
Answer: D
A. -5/6
B. -10
C. -1/10
D. -6/5
Can you explain how to get the answer?
Answer: D
-
formula to find the slope is y2-y1/x2-x1..
Therefore its answer must be last option i.e (D: -6/5)
Therefore its answer must be last option i.e (D: -6/5)

You can only get slope with two points that actually make a line, or three points that make a line together. Basically, what I'm saying is, you can ignore the point (x,y) because you already have what you need. (2,-8) and (-3,-2) already make a line. It's slope is obtained by:
(change in y)/(change in x)
(final y - initial y)/(final x - initial x)
(-2--8)/(-3-2) = 6/-5 = -6/5.
(change in y)/(change in x)
(final y - initial y)/(final x - initial x)
(-2--8)/(-3-2) = 6/-5 = -6/5.

Ok so you should have seen this question in class but if not there is a simple formula to find the slope of two lines its (y1-y2)/(x1-x2) so if you subtract the two points than you will get your answer. Just make sure which ever point you choose as point one you keep that way with x and with y. otherwise its just straight forward.
