t is for time,c).......
If a model rocket is launched with an initial velocity of 80 ft/sec from a height of 96 ft, then its height in feet "t" seconds after launched is a function defined by h(t) = =16t^2 + 80t +96

a. How long after launch will the model rocket hit the ground (assume the parachute fails)?
b. Why is the variable in the function notation h(t) a "t" ?
c. find the highest point in the trajectory of the model rocket

Please and thank you very much!

-
h(t) = -16t² + 80t + 96
h(t)/-16 = t² - 5t - 6
h(t)/-16 = t² - 5t + 25/4 - 25/4 - 24/4 ..... [6 = 24/4]
h(t)/-16 = (t - 5/2)² - 49/4
h(t)/ = -16(t - 5/2)² + 196
a). It goes up for 5/2 sec & down for 5/2 sec - a total of 5 sec
b). t is for time, in seconds
c). 196 feet
