489 + (−4.= 2.489 − 4.= − (4.3 − 2.= − (1.......
I keep getting -2.189 and the answer says its -1.811 im confused will someone show me how to get the answer i am doing something wrong and cant figure out what it is.

-
2.489 + (−4.3)
= 2.489 − 4.3
= − (4.3 − 2.489)
= − (1.811)
= −1.811

-
2.49+(-4.3)

Remove the parentheses around the expression -4.3.
2.49-4.3

Subtract 4.3 from 2.49 to get -1.81.
-1.81

-
Just do 4.3-2.489 then reverse the sign.

The way to subtract we learnt in first grade only works if the first number is bigger than the second.
If you don't believe me try it on 13-21 and you'll get a wrong answer :D

-
Subtract 4.3 - 2.489. Since you're subtracting a larger number from a smaller number, the answer is negative.

I hope this information was very helpful.

-
2.489 + (-4.3)
= 2.489 - 4.3
= -1.811
