Good question..! It made a very close pass today, but so far I've not been able to find any projections about its future. 2012 EG5 is a pretty new discovery and the egg heads may not have had enough time to make a precise plot of its orbit.

Poof!, right? When I seen the King of Asteroids answer that question...I almost thought that this asteroid really didn't fly near our planet today....good thing he is on top of things to clear this matter up....

There is no such asteroid. Newly discovered asteroids are designated by the YEAR of their discovery, followed by a pair of letters indicating the date in the year and a number indicating the number on that date. Without a year in front of it "EG5" can refer to a large number of asteroids.

Thank God we've got the King of Astronomy around. Even though everyone else knows full well what asteroid is being asked about, the King refuses to answer because from his exalted position it wasn't properly asked. Is this how "egocentric" is spelled?
