Sin theta + cos theta = 1

Show that the following statement is not an identity by finding a value of theta that makes the statement false.

sin 30º =1/2 =.5
cos 30º =sqrt3/2 = .866
the sum is 1.366

Like William B. Said, plus the actualy formula should be Sin^2 X + Cos ^2 X = 1
