So triangle LMN is ~ to triangle RST. LN=21, MN=28, and the scale factor of RST to LMN is 4/3. Find ST.
Can someone explain how to solve this step by step? I'm trying to but I want to make sure I have it right.

So, basically RST/LMN = 4/3 (Since the scale factor of RST to LMN is 4/3). So, all you need to do is set a proportion. Since you want to find out what ST is, you also need to figure out what the ~ side is on Triangle LMN. That would be MN. Now, ST/MN = 4/3. You know that MN is = 28, so ST/28 =4/3. Now just cross multiply.
3ST = 112
ST= 112/3
ST = app. 37.4
Hope this helps!

ST = MN * scale factor from LMN to RST = 28 * 3/4 = 21
