So everyones talking about it help what do I do to see is? Someone said to do something with a mirrow at midnight. Help and no rude comments thanks! ;-)

The flare happened yesterday and was only visible on the Sun for a few minutes, and then only with a solar telescope. The coronal mass ejection that it triggered and which reached Earth today is not visible, but it did cause bright aurora near the pole. You need to live a lot closer to the pole than I do to see that. So probably you can't do anything to see it yourself.

If you live in the higher latitudes and have a clear sky, no clouds or city lights, you may see the Aurora at night. Other than that there will be no visible effects. You don't need a mirror.

Hun, let me get this straight okay... NO JOKES PEOPLE...
- No, we will NOT die. But it will affect our Internet, phones, power grids, etc. If we do have one hit Earth, the outcome is just Auroras.. But that electric particles running in the sky by the Auroras can be so strong that they can blow transformers. Also the satellites will be fried. But that all depends on how strong the CME is.
- If we go deeper into it, without satellites and power, we basically can't do anything. Hospitals won't have the medicine when we need it. Because we have to have power to do this. In the 21st century, we can't live without power for years if its worldwide and is only in the Northern Hemisphere! Our society relies on technology way to much. And due to the medicine, we wouldn't be able to kill the infections that are in peoples bodies. So practically we will die. BUT BUT BUT BUT!! This one isn't strong enough to impact us THAT much. We were lucky enough to get away from it this time, but people, this shiot is real. In past few weeks we have been getting reports that there is a CME. In the past 2 WEEKS 4 CMEs have occurred. ONLY IN 2 WEEKS! Scientist predict that there might be a strong one that could only effect the Northern Hemisphere later this year or next because the sun is in a cycle that the sun produces a lot of CMEs.
- SO WHAT I MEAN Just keep your ears open about any CMEs. Because they will effect you and the world itself.
WHY WHY You came to the right place ;)
A solar storm is when a Coronal Mass Ejection is released from the sun and hits Earth causing some communication problems and such. The one that happened a day ago could have been a bad one that could knock out our power. But it wasn't strong enough.
They occur mostly during the last 11 years of the sunspot cycle on the Sun. This year its going to be really common. Yes they did occur in the 1800s, they had one that effected the telegrams and made auroras far down as Cuba.
And it has already passed. Nothing happened really. And that mirrow crap is fake. Im not being rude. But that's not true. Lol the info is above this paragraph for more info on what they are ;)
