I feel like you didn't type in what is supposed to come after the 5ll
but I think from the available answers I can guess there is supposed to be a 0 that comes after it at least.
I'll start by explaining how to read this stem-leaf plot:
The key at the bottom states that 5 I 5 = 55 So from this we now know that the left column represents the 'second' digit and anything to the right represents the 'first' digit.
Examples:
6 II 7 = 67
8 II 6 = 86
9 II 0 = 90
etc...
So assuming that there was supposed to be a 0 to the right of the 5 II key:
your 'range' would be the amount from your smallest number to your highest number in the data.
If there was a 0 in the 5 II row then your lowest number would be: 50
Your highest number is 9 II 6 or as we can find: 96
Your range is then: 96 - 50 = 46
