There are 22 students in Natalie's class. New reading books cost $7 each. Her class raised $50 in a fundraiser. If there are 2 teachers in Natalie's class, how much more does each teacher have to pay for the new reading books?

Write & evaluate an expression to show how much the teachers have to pay.

***Please include an explanation for easier understanding.

First read the problem and pull out the essential parts of the problem:
- There are 22 students
- New books cost $7 each
- They already have $50 to put towards the books
- There are 2 teachers, meaning the expenses will be divided by two.

First, I took 22 and multiplied it by 7 to get the total amount of money they need to buy the books.
22 * 7 = 154
Now we know that they need $154 in total.

Second, I take 154 and subtracted 50 to determine how much money they have left to raise.
154 - 50 = 104
Now we know that they only have $104 left to raise.

Thirdly, I would take 104 and divide it by 2 to determine how much each teacher will have to pay.
104 / 2 = 52
Now we know that each teacher will have to come up with $52 to buy the books.
