What is the exact value of (1/2)! (factorial symbol) ? How did you figure it out?

there's an alternative way to define factorial functions. the formula is

n! = the definite integral from 0 to +inf of [(x^n)*(e^-x)]

since this can be calculated for fractions n as well as integers, this is how n! is defined if n is not an integer.

anyway, it's a pain to actually work out, but 0.5! is a standard result, it equals root(pi)/2

Well my teacher told me
n! = n+(n-1)+(n-2)+(n-3)...and so on
and thats how you get
like 10!= 10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1
but how you would apply that to 1/2 i am not sure sorry. Maybe with the info I gave you above might help?
