Write the equation in slope-intercept form

........
2x + 4y = 16

Basically you want to isolate y, so you subtract 2x from each side to get 4y=16-2x. Then you want to divide each side by 4 to get rid of the coefficient in front of y, which will give you y= -.5x + 4. -.5 is your slope and 4 is your y intercept. :)

-
2x + 4y = 16

subtract 2x from both sides

4y = -2x + 16

divide both sides by 4

y = -½x + 4

and that's it in slope-intercept form

-
2x+4y= 16
slope intercept is in the form y=mx+b so isolate y
4y=16-2x
divide both sides by four
y=4-(1/2)x
rearrange it if you like
y=-1/2x+4

-
y = -x/2 + 4

you are trying for the form y = mx + b

so you move your equation around until it matches.

minus 2x from both sides, then divide by 4 on both sides

-
4y= 2x +16 maybe? Man, it's been a while since I did slope intercept.....

Actually it's been like a year

Oh, haha looking at the other answers, I guess I was wrong.... Send me back to last years math

-
y=-x/2 +4

-
y = -1/2x + 16

**sorry fixed it
