Need help with a few math problems

Hello, I have a couple math problems that I could use some assistance with. It would really be nice to have another hand here. Thank you if you can help me.

These are numbered problems listed


Write each phrase an an algebraic expression or equation.

4. Twice the distance from the park to the post office is 5 miles.

The State of Liverty is 151 feet tall. It is 835 feet shorter then the Eiffel tower. Write and solve an equation to find the height of the Eiffel Tower. Show you're work.

13. Solve each equation. Check your solution. Show you're work.

9z = -81



15. 3z - 7 = 17




16. 2g - 9 = -5


17. Chris and Joe shared a pizza. Chris ate two more than twice as many pieces as Joe, who ate 3 pieces. If there were 3 pieces left, how many pieces were there initially? Use the "Work Backward strategy." Show you're work.

10. let x be the height of State of Liberty which is 151 ft
let y be the height of Eiffel tower
equation: x = y-835
solution:
x = y-835 substitute value of x
151 = y - 835 transpose(-835) tot he left side of the equation
151 +835 = y compute
986 = y Therefore Eiffel tower is 986 ft tall.





13. 9z = -81
9z / 9 = -81/9 cancel out *9* on the left side of the equation; it will be
z = -9

3z - 7 = 17 transpose (-7) to the right side of the equation
3z = 17 +7
3z = 24 divide both by 3
3z/3 = 24/3 cancel out 3 on the left side of the equation
z = 8





16.
2g - 9 = -5 transpose (-9) to the right side of the equation
2g = -5 +9
2g = 4 divide both by 2
2g/2 = 4/2 cancel out 2 on the left side of the equation
g = 2
