Each row in a theater has eight more seats than the previous row. If the first row has 14 seats, which row has 46? Show how you got the answer!!

Using equation y = 8x + 14

Trade variable y to 46 and then find the x.

46 = 8x + 14

Subtract 14 on each side

32 = 8x

Divide each side by 8

X = 4

Since the first row is (14,0), it represents 0th row, so add the x with 1 and the answer is 5. 5th row.

take the final number and subtract it from the original, then divide by 8
