i'm doing my homework online, and they don't clearly explain where the fraction goes on a number line. For an example I am given the fraction -2/3. Where does that go? Can someone teach this to me for future reference? Thanks

Draw three divisions (two lines) between the 0 and -1 marks. Then choose the second division.
------------- -2/3
< ----- -1 ----|----|---- 0 ----|----|----1----- > (Number line)
------------- -2/3
------------- -2/3
< ----- -1 ----|----|---- 0 ----|----|----1----- > (Number line)
------------- -2/3

If the denominator of your fraction is 3 then u should draw 2 divisions between 0 and -1.Then u shud write -1/3 on the division to the immediate left of 0.Then u shud write -2/3 to the immediate left of -1/3.Then -1 which is equal to -1.And it goes on....
