What is the geometrical significance of 'k' in the family of cubics of the form y=x^3+k

-k is Y intercept , no more .......
DETAILED ANSWERS PLEASE!
thanks

It's the y-intercept. When x = 0, y = k. Increasing the k will make the graph intersect the y-axis higher, and decreasing it will make the graph intersect the y-axis lower. In fact, increasing or decreasing k will shift the entire graph uniformly up or down respectively.
