if f(x) is an even function then f (x-a) is also an even function?

An even function is symmetrical about the y axis as f(x)=f(-x). When we put f(x-a) though what we are actually doing is that we are shifting the graph either left or right (depends on the sign of a) so that it is no longer symmetric about y axis. Hence not even.

if f(x)=2(3)
a=2.5
2(3-2.5)
=1
a=2.5
2(3-2.5)
=1
