3x + 5y = 3
x + 2y = 0
a. (1, 1)
b. (6, 1)
c. (1, –3)
d. (6, –3)
I am not sure how to do this anything helps!!

You want to solve for the variables one at a time. Start with the second equation
x+2y=0. subtract 2y from both sides, forming x=-2y. You now know that x=-2y so if you go back to the first equation, you can plug -2y in for x, forming
3*(-2y)+5y=3. now multiply everything out, forming
-6y+5y=3. Now collect like terms, forming
-y=3. Divide or multiply both sides by -1, forming
y=-3, congrats, you now know one of the variables. Go back to the second equation and plug in -3 for y (you can use the first equation, but the second equation is easier)
x+2*(-3)=0, which is x-6=0. add 6 to both sides, forming x=6.
So x=6 and y=3, and you want you answer in coordinate format which is (x,y), so your answer is (6,-3) which is (d)
