Basically I don't know how to work this out! My exam is in a week and a day so I want to make sure I can work this kind of q out.
[A cylinder has a base radius x cm and height 2x cm
A cone has a base radius x cm and height h cm
The volume of the cylinder and the volume of the cone are equal
Find h in terms of x
Give your answer in its simplest form.]
Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

You already got the answer!
2x= 1/3 h
Send the 3 over
3* 2x= 1h
H=6x
2x= 1/3 h
Send the 3 over
3* 2x= 1h
H=6x

Other answers are correct but to make method more clear
Volume of cylinder is area of base x height.
Volume of cone is one third area of base x height.
So in this case height of cone is 3 times height of cylinder.
Volume of cylinder is area of base x height.
Volume of cone is one third area of base x height.
So in this case height of cone is 3 times height of cylinder.

π r² * 2x = 1/3 π r² * h
2x = h/3
h = 6x
2x = h/3
h = 6x

You should get 2x =(1/3) h so that h = 6x.
